LOCAL EVENTS GUIDE

As a celebration of our city's history & heritage, Lincoln is stepping back in time this Bank Holiday weekend as the Festival of History returns, for its third year, from 2nd-4th May. Visit the Roman Market in Castle Square, Knights Academy in St Paul in the Bail, the Viking Arena in City Square and The Norman Camp in Lincoln Castle as well as many more hidden gems and fascinating stories happening all around the city. Perfect for a Bank Holiday wander.

Guided tour St Mary's Guildhall

Formerly known as John O’Gaunt’s Stables, the building dates back to 1157 & was once a major domestic building of the highest social status and possibly the town house of King Henry II.


Uphill Markets

Lincoln Makers' & Antique Markets will be joining forces for one fantastic event, taking place in the Castle Hill Car Park, browse a variety of stalls selling both vintage and locally made wares.


And while you’re uphill, wandering the historic Bailgate and Cathedral Quarter, soaking up the atmosphere, do come for a browse at Follie, our little piece of Lincoln history, built in the 14th Century, filled with gifts, treasures and lovely things to remember your Lincoln weekend by.

With spring starting to peek through the showers, there are lots of gorgeous local events popping up both indoors and outdoors this month. As well as International Women's Day on the 8th March and Mother's Day on the 15th March, there's a whole host of great little reasons to get out and about; from local farmers markets & vintage fairs, health & wellbeing events and fun evenings to get your creative hat on.

The Lincoln Makers’ Market is a monthly street market held at Castle Square, in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter.

Hosted by a talented group of local artists and makers, the market features an abundance of stalls, offering artwork, crafts, homeware, jewellery and more.
Enjoy a drink whilst you browse and shop all the alternative wares and risqué crafts on offer across 2 rooms jam packed full of independent businesses. The perfect one stop shop for gifting, treating yourself, good food and vibes!

Join the The Lincoln Imporium for a cosy, joy-filled workshop where you can paint your very own Lincoln Imp in a choice of colours and finishes, enjoying complimentary tea and coffee – all under the watchful eye of one of friendly Imp Catchers.

Taking place on the third Saturday of every month, the Lincoln Farmers Market is packed with local produce and delicious treats. Set in the magnificent shadows of Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle

An exhibition of peregrine falcon photography will be held in the Chapter House from Monday 23 to Sunday 29 March.
